Jackson Walker's Media Practice: 100 Years of History



1905

Jackson Walker's founding partner, John Robertson, becomes General Counsel for
The Dallas Times Herald.

1942

Jesse Walker, partner at JW, sells his Austin radio station KTBC (later named KLBJ)
to Lady Bird Johnson, her first media purchase.
1949
JW obtains an FCC license for KRLD-TV, now known as KDFW-TV, in Dallas.




1996


JW partner Bob Latham appears on Court TV in the Turner v. KTRK trial.



1998



JW partners Chip Babcock and Nancy Hamilton successfully defend Oprah in the Veggie Libel Trial.


2003
JW is the first participant in the ABA's Media internship for minority attorneys, sending an attorney to the Tribune Company in Chicago for a six-week internship.



2005



JW successfully defends the Tribune Company in a trial in Chicago.
