Jackson Walker partners Steve Fogle and Paul Watler spoke at the Southwest Broadcast Newsroom Workshop on October 16, 2010, in Austin, Texas. The event was hosted by the Texas Association of Broadcasters.

Mr. Fogle spoke on media law, libel, trespass and privacy issues, as well as certain Texas Acts that affect how reporters gather news. He was joined by other expert panelists who also represent and advise newsrooms on media law. Mr. Watler participated in a panel discussion, titled "Social Media and Responsibility." The discussion focused on topics such as a journalist's right to privacy and social media policy in the newsroom.

The day-long workshop boasted more than 20 different classes and discussions on issues affecting broadcast newsrooms today. Topics included: radio & TV technique, general newsroom tips, investigative/legal information, and social media in the newsroom. To learn more about the event, CLICK HERE.
