Now that the November deadline for filing franchise tax returns in Texas has passed, many payers may think their work is done. However, the state Comptroller's office is reportedly flagging a number of returns for errors and then assigning the payer a status of "Not in Good Standing." This can have a negative impact on various financial transactions franchise taxpayers may wish to participate in.
 
Fortunately, there's an easy way to check your account's status. Visit the Comptroller's Taxable Entity Search page by CLICKING HERE. You can use your account's File Number or Tax ID, or just type in your entity's name, then click the button marked "Certification of Account Status" for the entity in question.
