While you were away the finance manager issued smartphones to her entire department (including the nonexempt admin who sued the company twice last year), an unknown employee sent a text message with a picture of his private parts to the new receptionist, the union steward is scorching the company on Twitter and the head of R&D wants to fire his latest prized college recruit even though he apparently gave her a glowing recommendation on LinkedIn. What to do?

How Congress is Rewriting Equal Pay Law

Over the last several months, the Employee Free Choice Act, the amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the new Family Medical Leave Act regulations, and the economic meltdown that has already precipitated more layoffs than this country has faced in recent memory, have generated enormous attention and analysis in labor/employment circles. Mostly unnoticed amid this chaos were the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act.
